    Play.com credit card

Just got a mailer about their new credit card.

Ignoring APR cos I dont incur charges ... just looking at points:

£15 of Play Vouchers if you spend £150 in the first 90 days and then 1% rebate on Play vouchers... so £100 spend earns £1 at Play.. and all Play purchases earn 2%

Not bad if you shop there a bit....

    thoughts?

    Re: Play.com credit card

I have one; I got it on the recommendation of Money Saving Expert* as I'm what they call a credit card tart!

I usually get a new, 0% interest one whenever it's time to upgrade a system. Most of my spend was Novemberish so I was able to use the vouchers to get a couple of 'free' presents around Christmas by using it.

It's been fine, I do buy from Play occasionally anyway but Scan got a lot of my £s for my present i7 rig and it was mainly from my spend with the latter that I got the vouchers.

*A place I always check before getting a new card.

I haven't had an MBMA card for a while now, so I might try applying for one again.

    Re: Play.com credit card

got one myself, 9 months interest free

Originally got it for the offer, but use it more than my other card, the vouchers are good for sending or using on myself

Customer service has been very good too, they do keep sending me unwanted cheques though lol

    Re: Play.com credit card

I might apply, although i have not applied for any credit (or been credit scored) for nearly 4 years so not sure what decision i will get? Might do one of those online creditexpert experian checks first and not take any chances

I currently pay off my CC every month, so not so interested in the 0% really - but the points rewards on this seem to be really good, especially considering that i get sod all for spending on my current Cahoot CC. Was also looking at Sainsburys but theoretically with playcard could still purchase from play.com through the Sainsburys nectar.com site forwarding, so double up to get online nectar points along with play points for orders placed from card.

    Re: Play.com credit card

I have one, so far so good, MBNA customer service good, online banking is OK.

Play.Com money back thing is quite good, I was feeling all smug about the £100 I got to spend there.... Until I realised that meant I'd spent £10,000 in since the summer on junk (legitimate business expenses for a technology company junk).

    Re: Play.com credit card

I got the Amazon version, same deal, single point for every £1 spent or double if spent at the branded shop (ie Play or amazon) Only had to spend £25 when I got it though I think?

Cancelled after a few weeks as my RBS CC started doing the same deal (although not double points anywhere) & I could choose from loads of different vouchers/etc not just get what was sent to me. Bought a holiday on it so already got my first £10 voucher & halfway to my second
