GunPla Build night (13 Feb)

A few friends and I decided to get together for a Gundam build night.

Was quite an amusing evening (as none of us actually finished any).

The night begins:


Lots of sprues and some obligatory snacks:


The odd accident...(well only one of us dropped all their stuff):

I kinda forgot to take pictures of the ZZ Gundam and the Wing Zero Custom (as far as they were built).

There was some comfort eating involved...one of us mis-assembled a piece and...and then corrected the wrong assembly...so two assemblies were built incorrectly.

Looks good mate, shame you have no finsihed pics/ models from the night thought mate. Would be good to see the finished product tbh.

Well I got a picture of the nearly complete Ball/Pod along with Wing Zero Custom. Both are 1/100 scale MG kits.



I'll bug my friends if they can grab better pictures.

There is (or was) a 1/1 scale in Japan (18.3 meters tall).

You can get Jumbo Grade which is something like 1/35 scale...which I'd guess stand around 2 feet tall.

1/60 scale stands around 12 " in height. I've not started on my 1/60 PG nor my 1/100 MG kit...tis too scarey!

Are all the parts already painted or did you paint them all before you started?

I *think* they are painted, although I think you can also paint them yourself..but im not sure.

Reminds me I have 5 unopened, including a PG!

Must get around to these but I really need to buy a decent compressor for the airbrush first....

Pre-painted with foil stickers and sometimes water transfers. Painting them really completes it but isn't necessary.

shaithis: pr0 builder? If you airbrush the kits and all. Saw one of Char's machines done up in candy red. Looked very good but very silly at the same time. made me think of "Pimp My Gundam"

Sleepyhead, do you have any other pictures of other stuff you've made or collected?

Me, personally? I've only built three 1/144 HG kits, am in the middle of building a 1/35 Code Geass Knightmare Frame (same physical size as the 1/144) and have a 1/100 MG Victory Gundam still to build and of course, the 1/60 PG Gundam 00 + 0 Raiser with the clear armour parts.

As to what I have collected, I got a bunch of figures, a few doujinshi (fan made manga), some manga...

This is Throne Zwei and my Figma Yuki figure. Unfortunately I recently broke his hand so he can no longer hold his sword in his right hand. I'll try and pick up a replacement when i head back to Japan.

I gotta either take new pictures or dig up the old pictures I took of the other two Thrones. Essentially all three link up but I kinda need stands for them to make it look good.
