Are you a tidy person ?

I know its a rather strange thread title, but I just wanted to get a flavour of who among us here on Hexus considers themselves to be a tidy person.

I personally can't keep anything tidy for more than 5 minutes before everything is just as untidy as it was 5 minutes before hand.

If like me you weren't bless with the tidy gene how often do you leave it before you give the room your PC is in a good tidy and how long does it stay tidy before it all gets out of control again.

My problem is that I'm a horder and I refuse to throw anything away and I've got the mentality that I may need something even if it's not been used for years, rather than bin it I'll have whatever the said item is sit around and do nothing, by which time it's either useless or not worth anything.

I've got tonnes of boxes for stuff I don't either have anymore or the products are still working out of warranty, again its all to do with the though process above. I'm the same with paper work, even if I don't need it I'll keep it.

I'm sure my untidy nature is doing my parents heads in, and its actually starting to wind me up aswell.

Am planning on spending a couple of days when I'm on holiday being totally reckless and going through everything I'm storing and ditiching whats no longer needed and having a serious re-think about the stuff I'm keeping.

Re: Are you a tidy person ?

    I'm a bit of a hoarder, I'll admit that.

That said, I am blessed with the Tidy Gene, it gives me great pleasure to have tidy rooms with things lined up nicely...and my bedroom gets tidied/dusted ever Sunday usually!

Re: Are you a tidy person ?

I have to be since the military like to poke their nose in every couple of months!

I do seem to gather a lot of stuff as I don't like to throw things out, mainly out of guilt rather than it might be useful again. It is nice to have a tidy place, however I won't keep everything tidy all the time (eg if I'm doing 12 hour night shifts I'm usually too tired to keep on top of it).

Re: Are you a tidy person ?

At least you are on track of beoming tidier. Comes with maturity I think.

I'm a very tidy person, I like everything in it's place. Trouble is I live with people who believe organised chaos is the way to be, I do tend to turn a blind eye.... I do get into to trouble for tidying away important things ( ie Jon's car insurance docs ) then never remembering where i've put them ( caused a kerfuffle when he needed to renew his tax )

I'm the same at work, habitually tidy... The playroom needs order and a certain tidiness about it. Fortunately my Boss is the same as me, so she approves of my quirk. Some colleagues don't however
( have been accused of having OCD in the past! ) but that's the way it has to be when they work with me! tidyness ftw!

Re: Are you a tidy person ?

My wife saw me reading this question, looked at me and burst out laughing. She laughed so hard I thought I might have to call an ambulance. She's still giggling and tittering about it now.

    I think I'm a bit offended.

As for the actual question, I plead the 5th.

+1 i just laughed at Saracens comment .

Im by no means a tidy person, my desk always gets messy within a few days and that will take me a few weeks to finally decide it needs tidying. I love it and hate it when its tidy simply because i seem to find most of my stuff when its 'messy' but when its tidy i cant remember where i organised all my stuff .

Re: Are you a tidy person ?

As someone who has struggled with OCD, I try my damnedest not to be. At least I've got an excuse to be untidy nowadays
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good

Sadly, I'm a tidy-freak. Not to the OCD extent, but cables are tidied, my desk is constantly tidied, I can't leave a bed unmade, clothes unwashed or floors un-vacuumed.

But hey, the chicks dig it, right?

Yep that's me too. I even like things to be parallel on my desk.

Re: Are you a tidy person ?

I think that if I had a lot of stuff my room would be really messy. But every month I usually go round my room and through loads of stuff out. My desk is a bit of a mess since it's so cluttered - virgin box, tv, monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse, xbox controller, laptop, another mouse, lamp, calculator, screwdriver, iPod, phone, some dvds, headset, slinky, psp, a glass, remote, a memory card .... eh, you get the point. My bed is always unmade, the tangle of cables under the desk is atrocious. My room gets really dusty for some reason, but since it's quite packed it's really hard to dust and I end up dusting round things.

So, long answer short... no .

Re: Are you a tidy person ?

Yes, definitely. I like my room to be tidy, clean, and highly organised. For some reason I don't go mad if I see a mess, but it does annoy me. Obviously there are times when my room is not clean, but that tends to be when I'm suffering from a debilitating disease such as man flu.
