    Oscars 2010

I'm up watching 'em with my Oscar obsessed missis and our friend. Might as well post some rubbish on here while I'm up. We're round my in-laws house as I'm too tight to pay for Sky movies, so I'm posting rather laboriously from my Pulse.

    Anyone else up all night?

Sod that to be honest, but when needs must.

I was up all night last night playing around on supcom 2 and BC2. I have work at 8am and I really don't want to go to bed even though I know I need to.

I'm not quite sure why I'm even bothering to comment, since I've seen precisely none of the films that are nominated. But anyway I liked the tribute to John Hughes.

Yep I am up late working on a network issue, 10Gb implementation, trying to find out why the Dell fibre modules are causing bottlenecks and we cannot get full transfer rates.

    Re: Oscars 2010

The Sandra Bullock film was nasty republican propaganda, and TBH The Hurt Locker was nothing special although I'm glad that a low-budget 'real' movie beat Avatar (which to be fair I haven't seen).

The Oscars, in general, are a load of rubbish. Any consideration of past winners and losers shows they are nothing more than a marketing exercise which has nothing to do with quality or art.

Nor me. Nor do I want to. It'll come out on DVD and maybe if it's a fiver I'll see it. Why all the fuss about blue people and effects? Yawn.

    Re: Oscars 2010

I've not watched Avatar yet, though it's mainly because I don't want to go into crowded screens (but now seems like a good time). I don't care if they are blue, green or yellow, human, aliens or robot, high budget or low budget I only care whether it is going to be enjoyable thank you very much.

And in my opinion, The Hurt Locker wasn't that interesting/enjoyable. It wasn't a bad movie, but I did get more entertainment out of the District 9 and Inglourious Basterds (I've not seen the other nominated movies - didn't go to the movies much last year).

Then again, I've never been bothered with the Oscars (I couldn't name you past winners).

    Re: Oscars 2010

watched it live too. glad Sandra won. not seen Hurtlocker yet - plan to do so.

like the look of THE MESSENGER. Will see most of the films sooner or later.

Avatar was amazing visually, but story was too predictable blah blah

Also stoked for Christoph Waltz too
One can never stop saying Thank You

Looks like I'm on my own, I though Hurt Locker was one of the best films of 2009 tbh.

    Nope, I also thought this.

    *slight spoiler*

The direction and sound was incredible - when you think about how not much happened - yet I was always on the edge of my seat.
