Fail beyond belief.... was my AS level resits and i got the following:
Chemistry : U
ICT : D
Sorry but when i was ill with glandular fever for about a month before and during the exam along with a doctors letter to the exam board, i believe i should of got a better mark. I got exactly the same % in chemistry as i did in the first one >.<, ICT i thought the exam went great but obviously it didnt and i went into to much detail and lost marks... again.
Seems pointless this education as i wont get into Uni now, might aswell start looking for college or an appretenship then.
Did Ok.., could have been worse:
A's in C3, S2, D1... but below 90 so no *'s
and a low B in chemistury![]()
You can get into uni with pretty much anything nowadays if you find the right combination of foundation courses, so don't give up hope if that's what you really want to do.
On the other hand, since so many people go to uni nowadays anyway it's not really a distinguishing feature, so it might not be a bad idea to look at other options - particularly apprenticeships etc. - as you could always go to uni later as a "mature" student. Plenty of options still available![]()
I have absolutely no understanding of the english education system despite being english
We do Scottish highers here, why are your exams so early? Ours are in May.
Mate thats great!. AFAIK you cant get A*s in Alevels so your sorted anyway.
Now got to see how well i do at economics and business later this year, already at a B level in that.
My mum noticed an apprenticeship with the MET office in the IT sector and it was £17k a year requiring 2 a levels and some knowledge of programming language. I guess ill continue with A levels till the end as its only a few months then hopefully apply for that or if i get the grades then UNI.
Anyone know what the current main programming language used now adays? Iirc C # and C++ are not used that much anymore and its moved to java, is it worth picking up c++ still though?

Varies from industry to industry, tbh. You won't go far wrong learning C# or Java, as the skills are pretty transferable between them (I learned Java then converted, with no real issue, to C# a couple of years ago). The financial industry tends to work heavily in Java. But mostly it depends on what kind of programming & industry you plan on going into - any thoughts?
Biology unit 4: 120/120
Chemistry unit 2 (resit): 106/120 [up to an A at AS chem after missing out last year by less than 1%]
Chemistry unit 4: 94/120 [2 marks off an A, slight de ja vu of last year!)
Psychology unit something or other: 74/100 (80 = A - deliberately focussed on bio/chem with the intention of sitting this exam properly in the summer when I actually have exam leave to revise)
Pleased with biology but narrowly missing out on an A in chemistry (again) is most annoying.
Grats to you all.
Back in the day 3-4 years ago now, I was sitting on C in economics, D biology, U for maths and E physics at A level. Despite this i got into Coventry uni on their engineering foundation year (best year of my life!!) and have never looked back. Exams are a means to an end, there are always other options!![]()
well done everyone
and @ Hicks thx
I personally find A-Level (I did Scottish Advanced Higher though) does not reflect the ability of students. Getting all As doesn't mean you will do any well in university. Graduating this year, may or may not scrap a 2-1...

When I were a lad you couldn't get A*s in your A-Levels. You also didn't get to sit them in 4 rounds. Bah, humbug![]()
