Yeah I agree its cruel, just to clarify, I didn't post it because I thought it was hilarious, more shocking than anything.
Ouch ! Reminds me of that old Stephen King horror film:
Cat's Eye

poor cat. And frankly pointless - with careful handling a cat will stand in a bath and let you wash them by hand. Far less stressful (although they sulk at you for hours after they get out)
At least, my old cat did... we used to wash her with pennyroyal to keep the fleas down and once she got out the bath she'd wander off, lick herself, and obviously wonder why she tasted of mint!
yes, she had a flavour...

So you might as well let them go mental in a sealed box; your only other option to avoid complete bedlam is to hold them still by the scruff of the neck while you point a shower hose at them.
I have two cats which I love very much. I daresay if I put them in the cat washing machine they would sulk for a few hours. But then they run off and sulk if (say) they knock my bicycle onto themselves while they're rushing around the house play-fighting with each other. Cruel? Meh.
We had a cat years ago, probably when I was about 13 or 14. And my sister decided to gel the cat. Absolutely covered it in hair gel. It needed a bath then..
yeah, spot-on's not too bad - we used to use it as well, from time to time. I think she found the nasty cold stuff on the back of the neck just as distressing as the big thing full of warm water though - she'd hide and sulk after both of them...![]()
