    Hurrah! New Job!

I've spent the last 2 years at uni as a mature (ehehehe) student doing a graduate diploma in nursing (I already posess a degree in biology).

Last week I interviewed for a job, and although I received confirmation by telephone on the day that I had been appointed today the offer letter finally came through!

I'm going to be an intensive care nurse, one of the very first newly qualified nurses to go into this job in this Trust (min 12 months experience required usually) and its a rotation job to boot! !

Just got one more shift as a student left, a few forms to fill in (the NHS loves paperwork), a CRB interview to attend and I'll get a start date.

    Exciting times!

I have a degree and a graduate diploma, its not quite enough credits at level 6 (degree level) for another degree.

Instead I shall simply do any future courses (and there are lots of them available) at level 7 and put them towards an MSc.

Also the "few forms" has mutated into 42 (!) pages of stuff to read, complete and sign.

    Re: Hurrah! New Job!

Good luck dealing with NHS staffing. You will most likely have to fill all those forms in again when they have lost them, have your occy health stuff done twice and then get paid completely wrongly for about 6 months. Bah.

    Gratz on the job though!

Congratulations, I suspect it would be a very rewarding job if you can put up with the paperwork and NHS politics!
