I saw this on the news a while ago...must of well & truly been a pants crapping experience for the folk(s) in the car.
Very freaky.
almost as good as the guy in the wheel chair who was caught on the front of a lorry :)
Did the Clio driver not tell them what had happened? Or perhaps she was just a stammering mess after that experience. :oQuote:
A spokesman said: "At the time of our attendance there were no injuries and both vehicles were on the hard shoulder of the motorway.
"As a result, at the time, the incident was treated as a damage only collision.
You would imagine that her tyres were a bit of a state after that.
Truly amazing
Can you believe this video? I can't I think this is the fake video edited by some one.
I am very surprised the cars tyres didn't blow out and the car flip over. Had that happened, it would have been a lot worse. The driver would be too high up to see the car I think, but its pretty shocking he didn't see/hear/feel anything!! Plus HOW did the car end up like that in the first place?!
If I had been the driver of the car (watching/videoing). I would have been in front of the Lorry trying to get its attention rather than videoing it driving by.
another case of woman driver i think
It's a shame the "how's my driving?" number is only on the back.
Wow, that's a pretty shocking video. I just can't understand for the life of me how a car could get there with the driver not knowing???
Stereo on, driver feels a bit of a bump that could be an expansion joint while he's briefly glancing down at the dash to (say) hit the headlight switch, he looks up and sees nothing so carries on?
I'm not saying the driver wasn't negligent, but it seems to me that it's quite possible that he's not at fault. For the car to have ended up there the most likely explanation is that the NSF of the truck has hit the OSR of the car and spun it round that way- which could happen if the driver pulled out of the NS lane while he was in the middle lane overtaking.
i got a suspecion its nothing got to do with lorry driver, well possibly the fact he kept going. I wouldnt rule out the complete possibility that that woman has sudenly desided to cut infront of him. As to why he didnt stop.....no idea but the fact that he couldnt see her is complete understandable. Just sit in your car and see just how much can you see down past the bonet and scale it on to a high truck
Scary, I would have thought the driver of the truck would have noticed something did not feel right, wonder how long the car was being pushed for before it got to the people who filmed it.
The only way that could have happend is if the driver of the car has pulled out in front of the lorry left to right. If they're going at a similar speed there wont be a very big jolt on the cabin of the lorry which has it's own susspension which causes the driver to not feel much even in a fairly big collision. Also the viewing angle of the driver of the lorry will make it almost impossible to see down there.
These images shows the blind spots of a lorry driver - be more aware when you're driving.

Pretty good first post there chap
I read a later version of the story where they had quotes from the women in the car when she dialled 999, it was something along the lines of the women screaming ''IM GOING TO DIE'' repeatedly at the operator, before telling her she was pulling on the hand brake with no result....
Okay, so maybe the truck driver was distracted when the car went beneath his field of vision. But how distracted must've he been to not 'feel' any form of impact?
A fully laden truck must be a good 15 - 20 tonnes? so i don't know if it would make that much difference to a lorry going at 60mph?
As for rational thought, there's being irrational...then there's being just plain flipping ridiculous. Screaming about dieing to the operator and fannying around with the hand brake?
Seems unbelievable. Surely a setup?
Even though it's wet on the ground, you'd really expect to see smoke from the car tyres?! Or sparks if the tyres were worn through. You can see the driver in the clio is braking, so the wheels must be locked, I'm sure you'd see smoke in a matter of seconds at that sort of speed.
I saw this in month or so ago and it looked fake to me then, it still looks fake now; but I'm curious if the police are invovled and the 'incident' apprantly occured, in one form or another.
Also, given cars are heavily front bias on braking, I'd have thought you might see the car (slowly) moving away from the lorry with more braking force on the front... meaning the car gets further from the camera, though the speed of the lorry could well smash that theory to pieces (har har).
Just looks wrong to me!
Also, if you were driving the car that took that video clip... WHY?!
If that were me I'd
A) want to stay infront of the lorry - if the clio comes off the lorry you don't want to be behind it... imo
B) flashing/hazards/trying to warn the lorry driver etc.... not larking around with my mobile phone trying to take a video when peoples lives are at risk.
C) Using said mobile phone to call the police... not taking video footage
