    The Million Pound Bike Ride

I don't know how many of you watched the programme on BBC 1 this evening, but take a number of unsuitable celebrities (and to be fair, most of them are celebrities) and a few racing bikes, and attempt to raise a million quid for sport relief. The ride was from John O'Groates to Lands End, relay style at near sprint pace, it was well worth a watch. Should be on iPlayer for those who missed it.

And yes, they did get a fiver of my hard earned for their hard work - it really was impressive.

Yep, I enjoyed it too not least because it proved to me that those Tour de France riders are abnormal, not me.

Not as impressive as Eddie Izzard's marathon achievements though?

Eddie Izzard's run was phenomenal.... I fully expected the medics to stop him by the time he got to Wales - his feet were in bits.. and to finish in 5hrs 30secs on the last marathon after waiting for 2o mins for the film crew.... 'spect....

Yeah, why the hell didn't Eddie Izzard get that sort of coverage?? 43 marathons in 51 days, no training to speak of, chap's a real legend!

Re: The Million Pound Bike Ride

    yep Eddie is the biz!

watched the million pound ride last night on iplayer, and wasn't too impressed. Typical BBC hyping of every incident / challenge. Respect to them for getting off the couch, of course, but 2 hr stints every 10 hrs isn't the hardest schedule, at all. They probably suffered more from a lack of rest due to incessant talking, rather than trying to get sleep when possible

    FTW Eddie!
One can never stop saying Thank You

Re: The Million Pound Bike Ride

I don't know why this got so much coverage, when the real Bike ride to go to all the 6 nations rugby stadiums got so little.
    That looked much tougher.
