Exclamation Raising money for Cambodian orphanage - simply need your vote

    hey

Have entered the Drambuie Pursuit adventure race in Scotland, for May 7-9th. Entry is free, but only for 5 teams. The teams are chosen based on votes.

The important bit: each team has to sponsor a charity. The team with the most votes gets £2,500 from Drambuie for their charity.

My team entered because we like racing, and doing some good at the same time is a bonus. As the closing date has approached (March 31st), however, we've come to focus more on the charity than the team. After all, if we don't get into the race, it's not a big deal in our lives, but for the charity based in Cambodia, that kind of money can make a BIG difference. It won't simply disappear in a day.

We entered this competition late, so our votes are pretty low. BUT, there are still 10 days to go, and with the power of the intarwebs and social networking, we're believing in the 'impossible'.

    Pls vote here: www.drambuie.co.uk/teams/279

The charity is Hope Asia, and all money goes to the kids, who are mostly victims of kidnapping & sexual slavery. Not nice.

One can never stop saying Thank You

Just so long as you are all aware that the activities of this charity explicitly include proselytising to children in desperate need, go ahead and lend your support. There are however any number of secular charities which do not spend donations on the promotion of any religious agenda; OXFAM, the Red Cross, UNICEF, and Médecins Sans Frontières being probably the best known.
