what a right pain in the A...

for those of you that read my earlier post, a few days ago now, about a troublesome pair of suspension forks - there has been a new development...
they were sent back on Tuesday 20th April, for the second time since I bought them, for a repair due to loss of air and oil leakage. returned to me last night (friday) having has innards stripped down and upgraded to this year's latest type...
bearing in mind that I recieved them back only last night at 7pm...I go with my bike to help coach rowing for the bext part of 7hours (was nice in the sunshine - even got a 'ikkle burnt i think!! oops) anyway so I'm going along FLAT ground for all this time at roughly 15km/h to 10km/h most of the time due to the speed of the boats I'm following...
anyway - the point of this short story - is that when I put the bike down on its side I noticed something on the base of the forks; closer inspection reveals it is OIL!...

so basically the fault that was meant to be repaired - WAS NOT!

I am rightly p*ssed off at the moment and I shall be writing yet another letter about the forks failings and request an entire replacement - forget repair, if they can't do it right the first two times how the hell is a thrid going to make any difference??!!

so, up shot of all this = lovely weather, no bike to ride = sad me...

p.s. any tips on how to compose a letter that will get a result this time would be very nice...clearly the last letter didn't serve much impact.

Simple answer to all your problems is just use elastomer forks, hehe

sorry, that doesn't help, umm, what make are they? if you've got their number just give them a call, it's the easiest way. or just send them a short and blunt email saying whats happened and that it's the third time it's happened, don't mention that you want a replacement, just ask what they think should be done. if they know it's the second time it's happened they may just suggest a replacement, or if they send you back an email saying they get them fixed again, it gives you a rather good spring board to send an affirmative reply message asking for replacement as they've got it wrong 2 times before. thats the easier less hassle route rather than writing a long letter of complaint, surely?

ok, boxxers or z1's for DH-ing but for XC use - which is what I do - Fox forks are pretty much at the top of the food chain
