Ntl and Blueyonder to hike up the speed of thier BroadBand by 50% for free in an effort to get new customers....I like getting increases for free, and there was me thinkingof paying to go tfrom 600k to 1mb NTL, now I get about 900k for the same price as 600, woo!
mind you, £50 for 3MB on Blueyonder, mmmmm speeeeed.

Well any extra for free isnt too bad people, so dont complain :p 900k i shall be quite happy with without having to pay any more.
reading around it looks like the 600k is going to 750 only, this is a match of the 512k increase that Telewest is doing. TBH it kinda sucks, but on the other hand for 38 quid a month you do get 1.5mb hmmm lol

will they be increasing the speed of the "up" as well?
eg currently on telewest I get 512/128 ...
no mention of that, and tbh that also still means ADSL or SDSL when it comes is miles more appealing, my site is averaging 70mb of new files a day. We uploaded 280mb on Saturday lol...Neeed up speeeeeed

Well thats crap.... You at least get 256 on ADSL regardless of the speed....
Still, I could do with 512 up (currently 1024 down) on ADSL :/

im living in a house next year with 4 others, we want to get a nice speedy connection to share over a wireless network, dunno which to get. dont think you can get telewest in derby :confused:.

postcode is out of area for blueyonder. grrr. so its either NTL 1.5mbps or an ADSL service.
3mb would have been sweet.
I've got no choice, it's either flakey 512kb adsl or even flakier dial-up :(

This is not unfiar in any way shape or form.
Last year (mayb year b4) NTL increased the 512 service to 600k for nothing. thats 88k> 11k d/load difference, which is half decent
yet.
people on 128k got just a measly 22k>2.75k d/load increase to 150k and had to pay an extra 3 quid for this very minmal difference. In ratio to the services 150k customers are pay far more for their service than the 600kers.
Its about time NTL gave us 150kers a good upgrade.
I meant compared to the increases to the other NTL services :P 150K is doubling, 1meg is increased by 50%, but 600k only by about 25% :(

The only reason NTL upped it to 150k in the first place was to bring the ratios in sync, and the prime reason they upped the price is thats their main market, simple. and the return on expense is greater on 600k which is whay they wanted to encourage people to upgrade. NTL maybe poor, but the marketing behind it all is very clever.
The only thing is, the 1Gig a day limit, NTL can hardly enforce this any further with the increase in speed meaning you can max out even sooner LOL

kick's BT's arse.
We have a 4 way 512 business line in the office from BT entirely separate to the rest of our network and its CRAP! My line at home, the 600k NTL line is sooo much quicker than the ADSL.

I'm on 2mb BlueYonder at present, so a 3mb line will be nice. Not that I was noticing that this connection was getting a bit slow, or anything... :D
