Boom boom.
...
That WAS a joke, right?
I quite enjoyed it, overall. Yeah. Some "trying to be Tennant" moments, but enjoyable.
Trailer for upcoming was exciting.
Just watched it on iPlayer. Was sceptical about the new doc, but so far so good. In all, new doc's ok, sidekick is yummy, lots of good baddies coming and a little bit of 'no more mr nice guy'. Should be a good series. Well if it's not, they've got only themselves to blame all the ingredients are there.
I too was a bit sceptical of the new doctor - seen the clips before and wasn't overally impressed, but then seeing something just a small part of the picture never gives the same impression as seeing the whole thing.
So far I think that this series has a lot of promise - not sure about the change to the centre of the TARDIS - some cone thingie, but otherwise very good
Agreed just finished watching it on Iplayer myself. I think there will be a few more Tennent moments for the first few episodes and then they will develop him into his own character. Too much change all in one episode could be a bad thing so they will make the changes if they are going to slowly.
a refreshing bit of totty after the utter blunder of the tate in the last series.
I think that I liked that characters quite a bit, and the actors, but not so hot about tonight's story.
Really enjoyed it myself. I think Matt Smith is quirky in just the right way, given good enough scripts (which imo was often Tennant's problem) I think he has the potential to shine.
Amy Pond as his assistant works quite well, reminded me a little bit of Ace, in the 'take no bull****' attitude, certainly a welcome relief in place of Rose and Donna!
The new tardis rocks :)
Ace. Dear god, man*, showing your (our?) age a bit there.
I christened it "The Ikea Tardis" from the look of the decor.
* also incorporates "woman".
Not seen it yet, got it recorded on the PVR to watch on 40 inch goodness :D
Yeah, I didn't like the new Doctor at first, seemed to be too much 'trying to be Tennant' but not really getting it. But by the end of the episode he'd changed my opinion, seems like it's going to work pretty well.
With Stephen Moffat in charge now, who wrote some of the best episodes of the last few series, I think we're in for a good season.
It was a good start, strong & with the usual Dr Who wit.
Boy done good :)
I have to say I really enjoyed that, also liked the scene on the roof when they were showing previous Doctors. A gentle reminder into the past and how it all started.
This has to be said, but you wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating biscuits would you ?
Nice to see Patrick Moore making a cameo appearance :)
Will have to catch up with it later.
Hopefully there was less gay innuendo and quieter incidental music ? (I very much doubt the second one though).
There was Tom Baker on the Sci-Fi channel this afternoon, PROPER Doctor Who.
