Ever wondered where that plane you can see is going?

Now there's a real time air traffic control webpage that shows info on flights that are currently over your head
It'll tell you the airline operator, heading, speed & altitude

    http://www.radarvirtuel.com/

Geeky I know, but I like it

I only wish I still had 2 screens so I could keep it open in the second!

Re: Ever wondered where that plane you can see is going?

Oh its usually pretty good, but at times there can be about a 4/5 min delay on it.

It also only shows planes that have left major aiports like Heathrow/Gatwick etc, it doesnt seem to include smaller ones like Southampton etc. (I could be wrong on that, but cant see any atm)

Shame some smaller planes aren't tracked . Would be good to know where the planes taking off near my girlfriend's are going.. She lives pretty close to Carlisle Airport.

    Pretty ace website though .

I wonder that all the time!
An augmented reality app for phones would be awesome, just point to the sky and find out?

EDIT: Turns out 'Plane Finder' app for iPhone is pretty much the same thing, not augmented reality tho....

Re: Ever wondered where that plane you can see is going?

Interesting link, cheers. Just flown back from Denmark today into London Gatwick, on a nice little Regional airjet 200 for the first time Looking out the window while preparing to land and really noticed how full with planes circling around it is at the same time - looking at that map can see why.
