    Quick Passport question

Okay, i am going on holiday in July and just got passport application through.
I previously had a passport which i got at 13 that expired just after my 18th Birthday.

Do i have to apply for first adult passport? or do i apply for renewal? also seems as i have previously had a passport would they want to give me one of those interviews people who haven't had passports before have to have now?

    Thanks.

    Eh?

It's a renewel, no interview or anything.

I did it last year (after 18th Birthday) - And was the same as everyone else.

its confusing as it states on the government website that after your 16th Birthday you apply for first adult passport... so im like humm... i thought it was renewal, but my other passport im guessing counted as a childs one?

Ring them up mate, see what they have to say.

When we did ours, mine was no different than my brothers (he needed a new one too).

We went there in person to pick it up too.

    Re: Quick Passport question

It used to be classed as an Adult application.

Your not renewing, because its a new class of passport.

But this could be out of date, when you go down to the post office, or the passport factory if your near one they will be able to check it all for you!

I did a similar thing when I got mine a couple of years ago, new adult application as it was a new type of passport but no interview

Oh almost certainly no need for an interview, it would only be if you happened to be the one lucky in a thousand.

New passports don't normally need an interview, your birth certificate is enough. If you loose your passport you don't even need that!

I don't recall ever having an interview for my passport, is this a new thing or something I just missed out on somehow...? Or is this just another booze fueled memory hole?

If you did it's nothing to worry about.

My little brother had to go for his interview for his passport and when they asked him what my mum or dads date of birth was and their wedding anniversary he just looked at the people questioning him and said 'do you really think I'll know all that information' (but not as polite as that )

After a few days after the interview, his passport turned up in the post
