780 copies and counting, and thats just for mail received in April.
Bloody slackers....
-
I keep getting ones sayin I'm trying to send someone a virus, my systems clean tho....

Firewalls are needed, anti-virus software is not.

Indeed, a good firewall on a dsl connection is essential.
But viruses are a pain in the perverbial.

If you get a mail telling you that you have sent a virus you need to talk to the admin from the server that sent you the mail. They then need to give you the IP address from the mail header that they received, look that up then bingo, that is the actual originating IP, thing is though that some of the viruses with inbuilt smtp engines send mails with no header. They should turn off the autoreply on the AV server though as it is mostly just annoying someone who has nowt to do with it these days.
www.samspade.org is a good place to trace an IP

Ilike the one that came from myself to myself telling my own domain had been hacked, guess what, by myself. LOL and I myself had to check the log, in the password protected zip file attached....riiiiiiiight like I would open that lol

Had three mails in the last couple of days asking me to confirm my security details one with Llyods, two with Barclays .... Pity I use niether isn't it?
I wrote a virus back when i was about 14 - just to see if I could, not with any plans of releasing it - on a non networked machine - payload was too big - it wiped itself out :D
da gings right though - people who can't understand not to open .exe attachments, or any attachment from a person you don't know - need antivirus - but they're classicly the very people who don't have it.

They are a pain the ass virus's....still i found that norton on a slow PC, with 56k is even more annoying as you have to download a load of updates every day...and you have a slow PC, so loading it up takes hours, scanning the hard drive takes even more hours...just plain irritating.
Im still on 56k...i have something that loads up and uses 100% CPU when i boot..just control+alt+del and get rid of it....its all good after that. Was quite impressed with my computer today as i was doing coursework (had forgotten to turn off this damn thing) but didnt notice any slow down....only when i had 7 pictures in and 8 pages did it start to show..then i remembered :)
hehe...really need to format actually...thats the best cure :)
