Excuse me Mr, can we have our Hypersonic plane back please?

The US Air force have 'lost' a Hypersonic plane capable of Mach 20 on it's first test flight...!

Loving the comments on Giz at the moment!

Hey Giz I found this hypersonic glider and tried to return it to the government but they said they'd never heard of it. Wanna buy it?

Lacking any database on swept-delta flights at such speeds, designers were compelled to model the aerodynamics from basic physics. Ambitiously, they sought to reduce the weight of the heatshielding by stepping away from previous designs in which the worst case of turbulent flow throughout was used.
