    Lightbulb WePad

I perhaps have my next Gadget lined up! Check this out -

The interface looks great. I like how they have things ready for simple thumb use, while still holding it with both hands.

Take a look at how it compares to the iPad, it has far better specs for just about everything bar battery life.

It looks like you can plug in variety of USB devices, one video shows them using a mouse with it, so I guess you can plug a USB keyboard into it too.

I think I'll likely sell my laptop and get a 3G version of one of these.

It's price tag is €449 (£390) or €569 (£494) for the 3G variety. Apparently it's likely to be available in July. Damn, that's a long time to wait

I see the JooJoo is out now, but it has no app store or anything, everything is web based. It worried me you can't actually play video files you already have for example.

    Thoughts?

    Re: WePad

It's like someone likes the Wii, and the iPad, and created the WePad.

Silly name tbh, but it looks awesome!

    Re: WePad

I think at 11.6" it's too big for a slate, really. A spiral bound notepad is just over 9" diagonally and is the largest thing you could reasonably fit into an inside pocket, and I think a slate has to target that. At 11.6" you'd need to carry it around in a bag, and at that point you may as well have a netbook / convertible tablet for the extra flexibility...
