    Closing Thread.

For christ sake guys grow up! Russ in particular. As soon as I read this thread it was fairly obvious an adult topic about "women's problems", now I don't know about you, but I know very little about how PMS affects the mind/emotions etc so hence didn't jump in with pointless comments.

If anyone has any comments to add, PM me.

Lynni, you got PM! (that's PM not PMS!)
Guys... you've never experienced anything like this, so i wouldn't comment where you're not qualified if I were you. Just be sympathetic that the only thing you have problems is keeping little jimmy out of trouble.

Being on the end of someones tounge when they're feeling a little off is not an experience you wanna experience.

Not that I would know, but from observation my other half likes destroying multiple things on Age of Empires 2, could be worth a shot.

I've reviewed the deleted threads and have to say I agree with Coco 100% here. Lynni made a point of asking for advice and constructive comments - and facetious remarks are out-of-order after that.

A light-hearted atmosphere and a bit of joking about if fine generally, but when someone starts it off, others tend to join in and the point of the thread is destroyed. I do wish people would actually treat other's requests with a bit more consideration.

My mrs suffered badly at one point, she found Evening Primrose &/or Star Flower oil capsules to be good. High strength Star Flower is definately the best, the suit of armour has gone back in the cupboard

well, it doesnt take a doctor to tell you women go through quite dramatic changes every month - which to me at least seem a tad excessive, i mean look at it this way; how could we have evolved in such a way that allows women to become potentially pregnant every 28 days?...I personaly think its just quite mad especially when compared to other animals who may come into 'season' [appologies for the lack of a better word] only a couple of times a year. I suspect we have our ancestor's fine hunter-gatherer abilities to blame I'm afraid, and that the ability to find shelter all year round and sustain life through the harshest of conditions, thus meaning that females could potentially bear young at anytime of the year.
now the sciencey bit (most of my phys. books are packed away somewhere but here goes something more or less understandable); its all about hormones, as you most probably know, having quite an effect on the brain, what you might not know is that it can be far more severe than you realise. oh and doctors don't really keep up to speed with scientific findings so asking one isn't that helpful - unless they actually specialise in it...anyway - the large fluctuations of hormones coursing through the body at 'that time of the month' - more precisely, a couple of days before - is a potent cocktail that any one would be lucky to live through save that female cells have a specific make up that prevents too much effecting them, until the dosage is quite high, then its past the point of no return and all hell breaks lose (ask any man who's got on the wrong side of one of these women, i only returned the crutches last week...)
interestingly if you give a female testosterone they grow hair and get stronger and sexual characteristics start to deminish, alternatively give a male oestrogen and he grows brests and his balls shrink (!!!). there have also been some interesting studies looking at performance enhancement - as mentioned - give a female testosterone and they get stronger but the increase is much much greater than that of males when given the same dose. thus showing a greater receptiveness to testosterone in females [I say females as it applies to not just women but in monkeys, rats - anything you care to think of - except fish that just change sex, but thats another story], strangely i can;t find any of giving males the opposite female hormones oestrogen/progesterone and testing performance...probably due to fear??...hell, i wouldn't mind - i see a similar situation occuring as when Rimmer was changed to be like a woman on red dwarf...could play with my breasts if i got bored!...
joking aside - you're not going mad, but inside your body hormones are battling it out like a game of c&c for control. as one hormone goes down anotehr picks up as a result, noticing this change the body attempts to correct it but of course it goes too far one way for each thus swings back and forth...thing fo two waves going opposite each other...and unfortunately they never settle down. I agree it would be good if they could but thats not the way of the world.
the hormones have been proven to have quite an effect in the brain - various thigns are produced in the brain such as dopamines etc, feel good chemicals and the sort, hormones effect the production/release and pick up/sensitivity to these chemicals so its bound to change the way the world appears to you.as a bloke I had no way of knowing but I'm just trying to tell it how it is.

if you think of it as going mad you're probably doing fine...not really your fault after all is it? I heard certain contraceptive pills might alivieate [sp.??] those worse effected...
