You should receive a polling card shortly (when did you register?)
The card will tell you where, and when you can vote (6th May)
On the 6th of May go to your polling station (take your polling card with you)
When you get there the volunteers will be able to guide you through if you need any help
Basically they'll ask for your name and address and check you off against the register (just give them your polling card [it has your name and address on it])
They'll hand you a ballot paper (or 2 dependant on whether you also have local elections at the same time) it should be stamped with the official mark
Wander over to the booth and put a cross in the box next to Lib Dem (![]()
)
Fold your ballot in half and put it in the box.
On the way in/out you may be hounded by party representatives for your address, you don't have to give them it, it is your choice
Go home flick the telly on and watch the hung parliament arise
PS. you don't need the polling card to vote, it just makes things quicker![]()

If you're voting in Cov then you will be given two ballots because it is the locals too
You do have 160 polling stations though, which could be interesting trying to get the right one if your card doesn't turn up...
It's usually your nearest school/town hall
if in doubt 024 7683 3034 or electoral.services@coventry.gov.uk

Just bear in mind that if you're in Cov North West and decide to vote Lib Dem, their candidate is...[decides on least libellous words] a bit of a character.

I'm having this problem too. Registered to vote down in Bournemouth and haven't got my card yet. Got some strange letter telling me that I had registered but no other info. My parents told me they have my card for back home. Good job I'm not too sure who to vote for. Might just leave it this time.
So long as your registered you don't *really* need the card.
Bring your passport and a proof of residence (ie bank statement at the address) and the volunteers should match you easily.

Thought I'd hijack this "election help" thread for a query of my own. Does anyone havve any idea what the difference/relationship is between the Liberal Democrats and the "Liberal Democrats Focus Team"?
I've still not made my mind up who I'm voting for yet, but I've noticed on the list of candidates for my area, the Lib Dem one says "Focus Team" at the end. Had a look around on various sites, and can't really make sense of what it is...
