Didn't someone set up a "None of the Above" party a while ago in a similar style?
Yup there's a none of the above party, and a citizens for undead rights and equality![]()
Would you believe that Labour actually passed a law explicitly to prevent that? I mean, that they banned "None of the above" as part of a political party name.
No seriously, they actually did.
Really.
Honestly.
Makes you wonder what they're afraid of, doesn't it?
Still don't believe they could be so petty? Look at this
Erm .... no there isn't.
Funnily enough, you're .... errr .... dead right () about the second party you mention, but there is no party in the UK with either the words "None" or "Above" in the party name.

Politicians are always going on about how people should exercise their vote, but then deny them the opportunity to decline to give their mandate to any of the existing parties. Imagine how embarrassing it would be if "none of the above" actually won, if politicians were forced to stop pretending that the only reasons to not vote were voter apathy or ignorance, and to recognise that there are those that have looked at the parties and reject what they ALL stand for. That, on many occasions, has been me.
And in the absence of a legitimate protest option, my options are either to decline to vote, or to vote for someone I do NOT wish to endorse or see elected.
Makes you wonder (or it makes me wonder anyway), given the extremely large number of people claiming right up until today, that they don't know how to vote how many of then would vote were there a "none of the above" candidate?
Oh, and personally, I'd like to see voting mandatory and with fines and penalties for not doing so (in the absence of a valid reason) but ONLY if the system included some sort of "no mandate" option that declined your endorsement of any of the options.
Beg pardon, there is a None of the Above candidate, not party. Or to be more accurate 'None Of The Above X'
