    9 hours of work

So..im in work today, first Saturday in well over a year and its pretty damn quiet.

    So what do i do?

I have limited Internet Access, have to log into a remote system to access it which isnt too reliable.

So ive brought my netbook along to try and get something done on a website ive been working on for fun and have brought along my Warhammer 40,000 Imperial Guard Codex along so I can try and plan my army.

But that wont keep me entertained for 9 hours...suggestions?

    Re: 9 hours of work

Plenty of time to catch up on films, and t.v shows.

I used to be able to get through entire seasons of shows when I was at work!

    Re: 9 hours of work

I have no work to do until I get a phone call.

    No E-mails coming in.

The limited Internet Access blocks sites where I should be able to watch T.V such as BBC I Player, and the machines here have the optical drives disabled

I think I might plan my Imperial Guard 500 point army.

    Re: 9 hours of work

Just so people know who we are actually supporting on weekends, we provide support to/ for a company called Wicoms who in turn provide Wireless Internet access to carvan sites and holiday parks all over the UK.

So on weekends, families are usually out enjoying themselves and hopefully leaving us alone!

No wonder those parks charge £10/day for wifi when they're paying you to sit around on your arse

You should have brought a media player or something along with you

    Cadian

Starting off with 500 points so I have a smaller, less expensive army size to aim at, that due to the fact that I havent painted in a good few years means my progress is slow and I generally paint in between time out with mates and working and with me working the odd weekends now, free time will be less.

My plan is, 500 points, 1000 points, 1500 points, 2000 points then look at the size of it then. My storage space is quite limited also.

At present I have about 15 men to paint.
Leman Russ Battle tank (old model, I got the last one in the shop. New model due out in June)
    Chimera
And possibly a repaint of a Sentinel if I can find it.

When I bought the Russ, I got a right dodgy look of some kid in the shop. Seriously, if looks could kill, I'd be 6 feet under and slowly decaying..

The above should keep me busy for a little while.

    My colours..aren't conventional either.

    Ice Bkue
    Space Wolve Grey
    Black
    Boltgun Metal
    Tallern Flesh

So not your usual colour type, definitely raises some eye brows in the shops.

And I also have some washes.

5,500 points? Got a picture? Be interested to see just what you have and how big that actually is.

Yup, paid cack money (for a weekend) to sit around on my backside until 9pm, where I then have to make a 2 hour bus ride home

    Re: 9 hours of work

    pictures you say.

have a few stored in photobucket of my various armies.

slightly modified leman russ with track width extender-thingamies

about half of the catachan foot troops. the rest are in those 2 boxes to the right.

just a few space wolfs, nothing to see, move along..

wolf priest sdhowing off the level of painting i was at about 5 years ago.

in total theres about, 5500 catachan, 6000 space wolf, 6500 dwarf, 6000 nurgle

i've not painted any since, for various reasons. one of which is that i've been playing too many computer games and found HEXUS, the 2 biggest distractions in my life

as for storage space. can you tell that the wooden shelving is homemade, theres 18 square foot, reserved for warhamer stuff.

    Re: 9 hours of work

Wow thats ermm a hell of a lot. See the reason I dont like the catachans is that they are just too plain for my liking.

I think 5000 might be a bit to much, i am going to finish the page I am doing on my site atm and then plan my army I think
