    The Labour leadership election ....

In all the furore over the new government, the fact that Labour need a new leader has been a bit neglected.

So here's a poll on who you would like. I'll the obvious candidates that we might like to see, even though some appear to have ruled themselves out already. If I miss anyone, I'll add it if I can.

Oh, and this isn't about who you think will get elected, but who you'd like to see get it. And serious suggestions please.

Oh, and initially I had Alan Johnson in there. I've removed him because all the others, including the Sith, are actually being talked about, albeit in some cases, with shudders. Alan Johnson, who ironically might have been my preferred choice, has explicitly ruled himself out and backed David Miliband, as I understand it.

Just imagine, Harmon or Mandelson? Talk about rock and a hard place.

Someone who can take the party off into the extreme left of obscurity would be perfect for me. Though the idea of having an unelected Lord as the leader would put them on same level as UKIP.

Who the **** voted for Mandy....

I would like to see darling rise to the challenge, he was honest when he was given a rather awful roll which the internal politics wouldn't let him speak about honestly or perform as he knew he should, so he gets my +1 for that.

Then again it is a bit like asking which turd you'd like for breakfast, or which Liverpudlian you'd like to have intercourse with.

I want them to have Mandelson. I think they deserve it.

I did! I answered the question... which was who did I want to be the next labour leader, not who do I think will be the next labour leader or who do you think would be the best leader for labour. I want a leader for labour who would make sure they never get back into power.... hence Mandy! Asking the right question is important.

    Edit:
I have to admit Harriet Harmon was a tempting choice.

I voted for a Miliband (I forget which one) but I'd like to see AD have a go. The reality is that I can never see it happening. Tarred with the GB brush...
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

Ahhh, Mandy. Twice resigned from government amidst corruption allegations. European commissioner and now peer of the realm.
