Down tempo/ambient music

Iv recently got into down tempo/ambient music but could do with some recommendations. Can anyone recommend any good groups/artists or songs that have lyrics but a soft/down tempo feel to them?

Why don't you just put a 'Bush' album on in the background. That always sends me to sleep.
If not then have you considered Air, Moby, Beth Orton?
When I am trying to find music I use CD Universe as they more often than not have free previews.

Heard some that arn't too bad but i'm being massively picky over all of this so nothing that has jumped out at me. That 'Erase & Rewind - The Cardigans' is still receiving a lot of love from me (im gunna marry her when i have some free time) so if anyone can think of anything else let me know!
