ur parents will tho, claim it on their contents insurance or summit. My phone's insured on our house insurance, but i've got separate insurance for it too.
Nah, unfortunatly our whole house hasn't got any insurance so it needs to be seperate :/
er...ur house has no insurance? u should really get some...... what if u're burgled or summit?
Isn't it illegal not to have home insurance?
Nope its deffo not illegal, don't know how it could be. Unlike with cars you can't really hit someone with your house.
Back on topic, any places then?
nope, dont think so. People just assume you have house insurance for this sorta thing. The difference with mobile phones is they have service providers and they want you to keep paying them money for your fone/contract/usage so it's in their interests to offer insurance, whereas with ur mp3 player you pay for it and it's yours, you dont pay a contract charge for you to listen to mp3s so it's up to you.
Saying that, there's insurance brokers for musical instruments and pets, although they are *slightly* (read: lots) more expensive than an mp3 player.
the thing is if its on ur house insurance, if u have to make a claim, mama and papa are gonna haev to fork out more for that.
something like an mp3 player would be covered by the "items frequently removed from the home" section of a home contents insurance policy. i can't find anyone who sells simple single-item insurance.
Major bummer :/ Maybe I could blag it and call it a laptop :p
you might need home insurance to live where you're currently renting. lots of places require it. either way just get home insurance so yer pc n stuff is covered too. doesnt cost alot, is well worth it. etc.
you could always buy it from dixons or pc world, i'm sure they'd be more than happy to provide insurance for you ;)
you could try asking companies who provide musical instrument insurance
a dixons group extended warranty covers 3-5 years of accidnetal damage and theft for the first year only.
Might be worth getting contents insurance. We have £15000 cover for gear in our flat and costs about £35 a year. You would need to check for cover on mobile items, or you might need to name them.
Well I alreayd have a replacement so geting one from Dixens or anywhere is out of the question. I thought A lot of house insurance places won't cover things that are taken out of your house regually. I doubt I'l be able to go that route anyway, just aint got the money, plus if I do claim on it won't it knock the whole insurance up?
house insurance rarely goes up. i've my laptop, digital camera, oakleys (all 3 pairs), watch, mobile and minidisk player all listed as separate items on my house insurance, so whatever happens to them im covered. me mp3 player isnt really worth it these days..
