Here in Bournemouth we're getting it already. I need to email my landlord and ask him if he's got it sorted so we can have it next year. They're running it through the sewers so they don't have to dig up the road.

All around my area, including about 10 metres across the road from my house, are spray painted rectangles with "FTTC" and an arrow on the ground - I'm very much looking forward to some fibre optic internet goodness
BT have already been busy installing all the cabinets around most of my local area. I've seen a few near my house and we keep seeing lots of openreach cablers doing work all over.
Samknows says that the FTTC date for my area was April 2010 onwards and as such I expect in the next 4-6 weeks we'll start seeing people switching over to this.
I didn't know if he was telling porky's or not, I had open reach here a few weeks ago fixing my net probs and he mentioned this news. And around the London areas, Skyport (Heathrow) would be one of the first.
This was the last roll-out list:

This announcement is in addition to that list - so I expect there will be a new list released fairly soon
