Not sure what they are trying to accomplish, but I see a pattern with dictatorships.

These sort of shenanigans happen more often than we hear about I think. I read it somewhere on the all-conquering BBC that it might have been revenge for a fight a few weeks ago, when the North came off worse. Can't find it any more though, so sorry.

Interesting that the flotilla (which I keep reading as "Floatzilla") is getting far, far more interest than the sunken SK's sunken ship. Anyway, here's the latest news is that SK is formally asking the UN for action (http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/asiapc....un/index.html) while presumably hoping that China will be on their side this round (http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/asiapc...acy/index.html). Though we can probably guess that's as likely as the US not acting to protect Israel.

Since when...? History tells us that the USA will feed us any old crap if it can get them the opportunity to test out their new (and use up their old) toys.

Next piece of news we will here will be about north korea having some kind of WMD... or is that too cliche?

its pretty obvious when you think about it
