Have you seen the price for his book
although it was fast I think the space shuttle reaches speeds of mach 20 and above during takeoff and landing, puts it in perspective a bit.

Absolutely awesome read. I haven't sat and read something that long in a good while, usually I get bored and move on, but for some reason, I enjoyed reading that.
The read gives you an almost realistic feel of what it is like to be a pilot of any fighter plane, let alone the SR-71.

Interesting read. I noticed that some of the comments said that his anecdotes stretched the truth a lot and also that he had been thrown out of the corps!
