    reporting a thread on ebay

has anyone ever done it? ive got a good reason to belive someone is selling an item and states that the item is 100% genuine, yet when i went and had a look at his/hers feedback rating as a buyer....i noticed the exact item he is selling just happens to be a item he buys which is not 100percent what he says it is.....would that be classed as counterfeit or so forth? i ask as i bought the item of him and now ive looked into it...well im abit ticked of and not sure if i should bother reporting it...or what to report it as! thoughts?

Re: reporting a thread on ebay

Ask him about it and tell him what you think. If you are still not happy then open a dispute; thats what it is there for. Check the dispute details very carefullybecause there are loopholes.

Re: reporting a thread on ebay

If I suspected someone of purposefully lying to customers, I probably would.

It more than likely won't lead anywhere, but I'd feel like I'd done my duty to prevent other people from being scammed in the future.

Re: reporting a thread on ebay

I've filed several reports (not to be confused with item disputes) on ebay and nothing has ever been done about any of them.
They did manage to ban me for over a month though, claiming I was buying and selling feedback despite there being absolutely no transactions on my account within the last 7 or so months and not even something that they could have mistaken for it.
So yeah, report item button does sweet fa and even if it did, I'm not entirely sure the monkeys they have going over them can even comprehend simple english.

Re: reporting a thread on ebay

If hes listing it as genuine and yet its not then yes he is breaching ebays sales, hes falsely selling/advertising his items so ebay should investigate that asap!.

What if he buys in bulk for personal and does sell the official?

Unless you can prove (I presume chemically against a known sample or with Tetra Prima's help) that the product is fake it's just an accusation, you just said you cannot prove it completely so unless you can prove the stuff sent out is not original.....

Why are you only just realising that pet food is not real a year after buying it, how much do you go through/how much in bulk do you buy!

Did you buy it in a sealed pot? That's the only way to be half way sure I think. Also big-up Hexus tropical fish keepers

Re: reporting a thread on ebay

I've reported lots of people on ebay. Usually people selling pirated DVDs or software (they are so blatent)..but ebay never do anything about it..they seem to do the minimum they have to w/r to stopping piracy/fakes and then ignore the rest of it.

I can see why as they make more money this way, but it's frustrating!

Still, I think it is worth doing just incase they just have a threshold of complaints (eg must receive 100 before investigating), and if you are really committed you can report them to the manufacturer who may have more clout with ebay.

If you're still bitter then contact Tetra Prime, they might take a bit more interest as it's their product which you say is being abused.
