ok, recieved my E700 this morning and just been finding my way around the phone when i came across a "£" sign next to some of the names on the phone book. I've tried googling for it and i've had a flick through the manual but i cant seem to find anything to explain what it means. Anyone got any idea???

What make was your old phone? There are probably some weird symbols that you had beside the names that the new phone does not like...

Nokia 7210, didnt have any symbols next to the names
*edit* they seem to be next to the people i txt the most but i dunno if thats got anything to do with it....

Is it to do with the counters? I thought the E700 could track your calls and texts, maybe it's supposed to show you where all your money is going

bleh! this is begning to resemble a circle
Your best bet is to manually change those entries that are affected. It probably happened because of a bug in the phone software which surfaced when it tried to read contacts that were created by Nokia phone software.
Features are bugs, and bugs aren't documented in user manuals

I've got a e700 and i havent seen anything like this before i think it might be as already mentioned above, your old phone has passed these characters onto the new phone, maybe what was an invisiable feature in your old phone now shows up in the new one, but now means nothing
