wireless ?
happens on my wireless, it seems to buffer some info then let rip.
hardwired speaks the truth.
speedtest is pants nowdays anyway.
been some major outages this past week on Virgin mate, Avon area losing 161000 modems and Cambridge going down too, log into your modem (192.168.100.1, user:root pass: root). Get some readings from upstream/downstream power levels and snr and post them, might need a tech to sort if you aint been affectedby the outages
alternatively, pm me your mac address and i'll have a gander

I always find the speedtest at thinkbroadband to be more accurate than speedtest.net.
only way to accurately test speed is to download over one network over a sustained period of time.
anything else has too many factors involved
Typically speedtest always classes my internet speed as much less than what it is! I've never trusted any of these speed testing sites and like Dareos, believe that downloading off a stable server for a period of time is always giving the most accurate speed test.
thanks.. it seems to be fine now, and speed is back to normal. but here are my up/down stats. look fairly normal. what do you think?
