What plane still makes you go ohh and ahh like a 12 year old at an airshow nowadays?
For my money you can't beat the Su-27's. maybe we will get to see the raptor this year?

Seeing a Harrier in VTOL hovering about 100 metres away.
LOUD.
I believe it was the Yakk display team that made the Marlin's act like a big bunch of kids, whoopin an a hollerin... so no change there![]()
If Wisdom is the coordination of "knowledge and experience" and its deliberate use to improve well being then how come "Ignorance is bliss"
MIG 29 OVT Doing a Harrier impression and just sitting motionless in the sky, now THAT is loud!
Oh, and standing on the flight line with a B1 in max reheat in front of you. That one really gets your chest vibrating!
Wish i was going!
Saw one do a display over Goodwood the other weekend for the festival of speed. THAT was impressive I can tell you, the noise the thing made as it hit the afterburners when it climbed to bank and do another flyby was shattering, especially as it flew straight overhead and very low.
Wont forget that for a while!
Vulcan nuff said, that or the first time I saw Concord damn why did we let her go![]()
Harrier with all it's hovering and what not is pretty remarkable to see i.e. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtQRHm1CZdI ~2.20
all time it had to be the mig29 ovt
this year prob the raptor squad.
and as for noise i dont think anything beats the B1 its incredibly irritating. And yes, i am going this week end and been going to every one since 2002 and the days where B2s used to overfly. oh oh if anyones got a picture of that, it be cool as i never got a decent one
That was particularly ace, although the things that really stick in my mind are the sound of the B-17 once it had got wound up - such a nice burble from those Wright Cyclonesand on the 60th anniversary D-Day show at Duxford, just as the last note of the (beautifully played) Last Post sang out, the Tornado doing an extremely low flypast nudging the speed of sound..... incredible - seeing something that big going past so fast in complete silence and then the earth-shattering thunder of it trying it's damndest to keep up.... gives me goose-bumps just thinking about it - and that was 6 bleeding years ago!
