    Imagine a kid being in the room - they would absolutely freek!

    Looking at the video they did though it didn't seem to work that well, it was looking up at the ceiling for most of it, and I think I saw the mouth move once, maybe twice

    Well if it is a Japanese kid, I doubt they would freak; there is a festival event whereby an adult will dress up as an oni (sort of like a devil/evil being) and goes and kidnaps the naughty children (kindergarten age). Watching the documentary on it and it seems quite a traumatic experience for all the kids, especially the one that gets taken away. A talking minimalist doll is nothing to those mentally scarred kids.

    Anyhow, this time next week I should be in Osaka; I might try and go see this thing for real. That is, if the thunderstorms let up...

    Wow them poor kids....my little girl would have nightmares for weeks from something like that
