    Re: Hangover cures?

the best cure i found is lots of water before bed... seems bit late now, but probably lots of water to get you hydrated would be a good idea

    Re: Hangover cures?

A big glass of orange and coke. Seriously. Lots of sugar, vitamins, caffeine - should settle everything down. Just make sure you have proper coke / pepsi, not the diet varieties.

    A proper fry-up helps too...

Go back to sleep having drank loads of water.

Or if you're hardcore - immersion in cold water.

I did actually attempt this. The water wasn't in agreement with me about it's chosen destination last night...

Have a nice, big fry up - they proved it helps the best on Brainiac so it must be right

    Re: Hangover cures?

Yep. If you can keep it down, the fry up is the best I have found. If you don't have a lot to do today stick a shot or two of vodka in your OJ too. I know, it doesn't cure a hangover, in fact it makes it worse, but it makes it feel better. It basically spreads the pain out over a longer period, so you don't have to deal with it all at once, you just feel less bad, but for longer.

    Re: Hangover cures?

+1 on water. I usually drink a ton before I go to bed after a night out. Keep drinking throughout the night aswell. If you can manage it, get up early and beat the hangover. I find if I am up by 7-8 (and don't stop in till say 11-12) then I can stop the hangover.

Bacon Sandwich with red sauce and a can/bottle of lucozade or orange juice (and some Irn Bru)

Bacon - contains salts/to replace from dehydration, protein for body repair, tastes awesome
Tomato sauce - vitamin c and sugar

lucozade/orange juice - sugar and water (and vit c in the OJ)
    Irn bru - tastes awesome

    My solution... don't stop drinking

You don't want to go OT with the water....a pint every 2/3 hours is enough, just to get you hydrated again.

    Re: Hangover cures?

Cranberry Juice, Marmite on toast and then once having given that some time to settle a bit of moderate exercise. Enough to make you start sweating and feeling tired but not that much you get dizzy and nauseus. Then plenty of fluids for the rest of the day finished off with going to bed early to catch up on your sleep.

I have found that this works better than most things, but that doesn't stop me using a hangover as an excuse for a big greasy fry-up now and again ;-)

    Re: Hangover cures?

Water is definately what you need, particularly if you threw up last night, as you need it to flush the alcohol from your system properly. Other than that, I've found staying awake rather than sleeping helps me flush my system out, so much so now I struggle to stay asleep for more than a couple of hours after heavy drinking.

...at last, someone with some sense.

The only way to cure a hangover is to get drunk again.
