Do you hoard your hardware boxes?

Well I'm just getting into packing my stuff to move into the new property on Monday and my god, I did not realise I had so many hardware boxes!

    So far I've counted..
4 keyboard boxes, 7 mouse boxes, 4 montherboard boxes, 2 joystick boxes, 2 boxes of sound proofing, 9 graphics card boxes, 2 sound card boxes, 2 modem boxes, 1 switch box, 6 cpu boxes, 1 mouse mat box, 3 hdd packages, 6 ram packages, 2 heatsink boxes ad finally 3 psu toolbox type things.

I've yet to open the cupboards, that's just off 2 shelves.

I keep the majority of my boxes.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Re: Do you hoard your hardware boxes?

I managed to stuff most of my hardware boxes into a clothes cupboard about 2ft wide, rather than the attic where they get all dusty.

Re: Do you hoard your hardware boxes?

I bin my boxes once I know the hardware I'm using after I've bought is stable after a month or so. I used to keep the boxes, but really whats the point ?

Re: Do you hoard your hardware boxes?

I keep mine because I have all the accessories in them. Sometimes when my internet driver randomly fails and I need to do a reformat the driver disks come in handy, as well as adaptors that I might need in the event I buy an oem item and there's nothing with it.

Re: Do you hoard your hardware boxes?

The only time I keep the boxes are when it's things like Camera's, easier to sell them again when you have the original box.

Re: Do you hoard your hardware boxes?

I keep every single one if I still have the hardware that goes in them, useful when reselling as people tend to pay more for a fully boxed and complete item from my experience or when I need to RMA something.

I usualy store all the manuals, Driver discs and small accessories in the motherboard box when I build a new system. The motherboard box goes on the shelf, and all the other boxes go in the bin.

Mind you, seeing as I run Linux the driver discs are rarely usefull, and the manuals can be downloaded again online so perhaps there is no point in keeping anything.

I've still got quite a few boxes, but I tend to horde them far less than I used to.

Re: Do you hoard your hardware boxes?

I keep them when I still own the kit - things are worth more when you sell them on in their original box.

Plus, stick the empties in the loft - great addition to your house insulation!

Re: Do you hoard your hardware boxes?

I keep boxes then every so often i`ll have a purge. Its usually after I have a purge that I realise I need the box for something

I also have a load of old cases and power supplies that are of no use to anything but I still keep them for some reason :s

With you on this one. I just don't have the room for them.
