Actually you think it's three weeks, but the LHC exploded, creating a timey-wimey anomoly that means only minutes have passed for us. We didn't even notice you'd gone

I missed that cause I have work which means I have to go to bed early. Oh and the amount of ambient light I have doesn't help. I was thoroughly vexed.

Important things that happened this week:

My OS did an fsck on my /home mount and found some errors, but I was in a hurry so had to risk it and skip them. I subsequently ran an array verification and sure enough there were some discrepancies towards the end of the array, which it fixed. A second fsck proved clean too. It's been fine since.

The BBC asked me about it but I declined to comment, stating that I wanted Whiternoise to know about it first.

Also, those other things people have mentioned happened (well, most of them).

I was observing the day before the Perseid peak, pretty good show. And then it clouded over for another week.

One of the disks is flaky at best, but the error rate is low enough that the array keeps it in shape.

I might retire those disks soon, do away with my RocketRAID 3520 and build a 2TB ZFS mirror instead, seeing as userland ZFS is half decent in Linux now.
