Look for a local timber merchant, or my local B&Q cuts to length

Re: 2x2 studs 8 feet long

I'm going to go down baq tomorrow with my tape measure and see if they have anything that is the right size.

length is not a problem tho but it needs to be 38mm h x 38mm w 8 feet long and i need seven of them.

Have a look for 1.1/2" instead...

If it's 2x2" you're after - then you need to either ask for that at the timber merchants (they'll give you the right size) or 50x50mm (1" = 25.4mm). If you get PAR (Planed All Round) it'll be nice and smooth too, not rough cut. The standard length for a bit of timber these days is 4 metres (roughly 13') but you can get them cut to size, or cut them down yourself.
