ok guys, i need your help.... I've tried thining, but with no males in my family and not having had a boyfriend for quite a while, i dont know how to buy for blokes, soooooooo... i need to buy my best mate a birthday pressie... He's going to be 19 oh, and i'm not loaded, so it'll have to be something small and cheap and easy to pack/carry to spain....

Men are easy to buy for, buy him a pint or some other alcohol. Other options include after shave, a CD or anything gadgety :D

I doubt he'll be bothered if you get him a normal present. If you want something different though if he's your best mate, maybe a photo of you 2 in a frame? what are his hobbies? Why not a cool gadgety present?

make something, i know it sounds childish, but my best friend has given me a couple of handmade gifts and they really do mean a lot to me, it's true what they say, it's the thought that counts!

i've seen from some other threads that Elmo's got some modding talent though, i'm confident that Elmo could make something that someone would be very pleased to recieve, it doesn't have to be a masterpiece, even simple things with a bit of time and concentration can be very effective.
somthing like a small mag light? if hes traveling it will be usefull or a leather man/clone?

well you've got the inevitable photo frame, mirror, pencil holder, draw/paint a picture...
i don't know whether he's got a computer or not, but i've seen you've made a monitor surround for your pc, maybe one for him? BiT-Tech have a really nice article on building a personalised mouse mat http://www.bit-tech.net/article/75/ you don't have to bother with the lights and it shouldn't be too hard to do. if he's got a car, your own version of furry dice...
my ideas might be silly (apart from the mousemat which was pretty cool if i do say so myself), but your in a better position to know what he might like, he's sure to appreciate the thought and effort that goes into whatever you deicde to do.
