Men are easy to buy for, buy him a pint or some other alcohol. Other options include after shave, a CD or anything gadgety

I doubt he'll be bothered if you get him a normal present. If you want something different though if he's your best mate, maybe a photo of you 2 in a frame? what are his hobbies? Why not a cool gadgety present?

make something, i know it sounds childish, but my best friend has given me a couple of handmade gifts and they really do mean a lot to me, it's true what they say, it's the thought that counts!

I was gonna suggest that, my fav presents are the pictures my g/f drew for me. However most people (me included) aren't talented enough to make something decent

i've seen from some other threads that Elmo's got some modding talent though, i'm confident that Elmo could make something that someone would be very pleased to recieve, it doesn't have to be a masterpiece, even simple things with a bit of time and concentration can be very effective.

there are lots of gift/present sites, like prezzybox above, which have a 'gift idea wizard' or what have you, might give you a few ideas.

hehe, think everyone has the same problems, i know i spend days, literally, wondering around town trying to find presents for my best friend, is always v.strange that for someone your so close to it's so hard to find something, think maybe it's because you can try too hard to find something that's just right! what you meaning by personal gift? something your going to make or something your going to buy that has some personal meaning?

something to make... i kinda wanted to do that from the start, but i thought it'd be easier to buy something rather than think of something and make it.... i've got just under a week till i go out to spain to see him, so plenty of time, just ideas i need :/
