so they claim it was empty for two years with no one living there and all his belongings packed. Yet they have his tv and his dvd collection? Well something doesn't add up. This been the daily mail of course they didn't bother to find out that fact at all.
Its an amazing thing the entitlement culture some people have, the same as those who are complaining housing benefit be capped at £21k per year.

Yeah the squatters are neither native, nor particularly in dire poverty, but they're actually making use of the place.

Of course since it's illegal to break in, they claim "the door was open".
Smash a window or door and repair it later, who's to know?

after reading the story, i thinks it's doubtful that the owner only left a week ago, but who knows the truth? why would a rich hotelier live in a house without a sink? and why would the neighbours say the property was vacant for 2 years...
i think a few fibs have been told on both sides. if what the owner said is true, then that's a tragic story. if he's insured he should just burn it down and make it look like the Italians did it, a flaming vespa should do the trick.
who knows the true facts of this as its been reported through the DM..but its disgusting anyway, even if its been empty for 2 years they should have no right to do this..live there until the owner requests you to leave, sure, but effectively stealing the house?
"Squatters rights" are another aspect of UK law that needs fixing really, a throwback to the dark ages imo..makes you scared to be a homeowner..
