Recorded deliveries are the worst in my experience for the disappearing act. Useless.

Has anyone actually successfully claimed money back from Royal Mail?

I noticed the silly limits they place on values.

£20 for parcels and 100 times the value of a first class stamp for normal post.

    Never had a problem myself.

Posted a parcel at 18:00 (Oxford) one evening, was on the doorstep of home (Grimsby, Lincs) the next morning.

I,ve come close twice, on both occasions,
the item were sent via recorded delivery,
but arrived on the 10th working day(2 weeks)
after they were sent...so I didnt have too

I,t is 10 working days if you send something
via recorded del, before rm will do anything
    about it.

Really is best to send stuff via special del,
    you can,t beat it!

Special Delivery is soooo expensive for what it is.

It reminds me of a Mafia organisation, except in efficiency!

Maybe the person at the post office should be saying "That's a nice looking parcel, it's be a shame if anything happened to it!, maybe you'd like to take some insurance"...etc >in a cod italian accent<

    lol aeon,
It,s not that expensive...only when you go above 2kgs
it jumps from around £7.50 to £18....but the majority
of the time it costs a under a £5 and well worth
it too if you consider it is a fully insured garaunteed
service....btw leave some hexus for me aeon..lol
we need to rebuild our hexus rating again
    mines under utreality.

It's just the peripherals of the Royal Mail that suck....they suck as good as Monica Lewinski, and accept all the responsibility Bill did.....
"Was that delivering mail in the american sense!"

btw, PM what we did together and I'll leave the appropriate feedback.....my feeble brain. My profile is still aeonf242

The lose 1 in 10 mail and they say that they are doing very well.

And they say that they are performing well under severe competition.

Well, if somebody could please tell me where this 'competition' was, maybe I could use them insted of Royal Fail ?

I always send my stuff by Recorded or Special Delivery just to avoid problems with them losing my stuff.

ParcelForce is pretty crap as well.

To be honest Private firms like City Link can be ropey at times aswell.

SW London is the worst area for Royal Mail performance, so maybe it's the area..

    Royal Mail Language Schooling

FRAGILE = drop up to 50cm
DO NOT BEND = don't bend more than once
PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL = possible cheque inside or ID documents (see how to make cash from letters appendix)
    FIRST CLASS = not known
SECOND CLASS = see FIRST CLASS
PARCEL CLASS = get to ride in the nice van
