    I'm getting withdrawal symptoms

It is nearly 3 weeks since I moved house and still no sign of my broadband...I'm getting all twitchy and hyper, it's nearly as bad as when I gave up smoking. And the work internet is no good as it is soooooo sllllllloooooowwwwww and blocks lots of sites and all flash based stuff.

I've seen more television in the last 3 weeks than I did in the previous 3 months...what a pile of ****.

I honestly didn't realise how much I use the internet.

    Thanks for listening.
Of course I'm perfect you just need to lower your expectations.

Who have you signed up with? What's the hold up?

I had a BT line enabled here within a few days of moving in and Plus.net enabled exactly a week after that. Can't fault them for delivering exactly on their estimated dates

Sorry to hear that Attila, that's a real pain!

I remember once when I didn't have Internet, and I had to resort to watching TV as well! I can still remember the commercials! Ooooh, the reality TV show nightmares are coming back! Noooooooo!!!

    Re: I'm getting withdrawal symptoms

Actually Pipex are involved...they are the current providers to the property but I absolutely refuse to use them following their lies to me 4 years ago.

The main problem is my fault. I left it late to transfer my package from my previous house and it was started just before christmas. But I've had such good service from these guys I decided I would continue with them. However, as they are a utility supplier rather than a reseller it apparently takes longer to sort out with the previous provider. This was in my info pack so I have no excuse. Still it should be there by Friday at the latest.
Of course I'm perfect you just need to lower your expectations.

    Re: I'm getting withdrawal symptoms

I am getting Be* my line should be installed on Thursday.. or is in Friday... (no one seems to sure). I had to wait 1 month for the install because Virgin messed me around and failed to do the install. I my fault really I should have over lapped my services rather than trying to move them. That way I would have worked in the new house and there would have been time to get someone else if it failed. When I was looking around and the sales man got me to give virgin a chance, I would have had an install before Christmas. The TV arials on the roof are messed up to so can't get digital and pictures are all grain-o-vision. Thank the goddess for mobile "Broadband". No TV and no Beer make Homer... something.. something.. something... Good thing I do have Beer!

    Re: I'm getting withdrawal symptoms

I'm in the same boat - moved in on 16th december and no internet since then..apart from at work Like now.

My house is a new build property, and i'm going with sky..but it's the dreaded BT Openreach team that has held me back, as I don't have a phone line installed at the moment. I'm booked in for an install on the 13th (2 days away now), and that was the earliest they could do..thats through sky too. If I went with BT direct for the phone line, earliest date they had for me was Feburary!

On the plus side I have sky to keep my entertained (the TV was installed on the 16th ) and i've played more single player PS3 games than ever before in my life..and it has cured my WoW addiction. Temporarily. Relapse is assured by friday

    Re: I'm getting withdrawal symptoms

When I moved house my provider at the old property was SKY who told me I only needed 24-48hrs notice to move the line.
I moved into a House with a SKY telephone line already.....then I had to wait 5 weeks for SKY to disconnect my old line before they could consider activating my new one.
So I had 4 weeks without Broadband and got a BT line instead (4 week wait for a new BT or Virgin Line!).
SKY are rubbish, couldn't allow me to have 2 lines runnign at once..even offered to pay for them.

Get a dartboard, I did ages ago, much better than TV. Erm yeah, perhaps an odd post lol.

TV is generally pretty bad though isn't it :/
