Phones for the Home

I seem to spend most of my life on the phone -I have a Cisco VOIP phone for the office, but I want some reasonable land line pones for if my BB Is down.

I was thinking about this:

Looks good. We have a Philips phone downstairs, and I have an Ericsson one up here that connects to the Philips' base station. I don't like the Philips, it's uncomfortable to the ear

Meh. We get by without them. If it's urgent, they'll call back.

Use the BT answerphone? Means you can have it answer when you are engaged.

haven't you got some sort of provider based voicemail system you can use? over here we have "Callminder" all you do is record an outgoing message.... and then you can set the phone to divert all, when busy or set a delay to switch to voicemail if it aint answered. Then it gives you a two-tone dial tone if you have a message.. all voice controlled too, so you don't have to remember which buttons to press to retrieve messages, delete em etc... afaik it's a free service. Just dial 121 to listen to your messages... dunno if BT do it or not tbh - worth a try...

The amount of corless phones we got through in our house is just ridiculous, one after another they just all broke. Think we've got about 5 that do work now though!

anyone ever seen headset ones like businesses have, it gets on my nerves having to hold a phone to my head when doing stuff.

I've got a nice dect Panasonic unit - great battery life, headset connection and answerphone... I'm going to have to add another unit as I'm too lazy to try and find where I keep hiding the phone in plain sight!

I know Argos had an offer on, not sure if it still is, but it was four handsets and was only 49.99, yeah it was binatone, but it was DECT and the handsets rather funky in design, worth a comparison imo.
