something tells me aidanjt isn't going to happy earning average money for the rest of his life, and it probably won't change unless his attitude does!

Another personal attack instead of addressing the argument? Smooth.

Probably just as well, I don't have the time to dispel fantasy reality right now. Later.

Re: It's official:US Housing Crisis Is Now Worse Than Great Depression

Again, life isn't fair. Some people will be rich, some people will be poor. Some people will be rich because of circumstance, some will be rich because of luck or the level of effort they apply. This applies to poor people.

On the upside, quality of life is vastly improved over what is was 90 years ago, and even the poor people (in developed nations) enjoy a level of comfort unimaginable to people from the original depression.

Nothing's clear cut. Nothing is black and white.

Having run my own business, failed, and lost a considerable amount of my savings in the process, I can only say that I tried, and I'm glad that I did. I try to improve my lot in life through continued effort, and regardless of what happened, I consider myself a better person for the effort.

I recognise that the distribution of wealth is hugely (increasingly) unfair, and would love to see some of that top 10% redistributed, but that's almost as unfeasible as being able to distribute it only to those who deserve it (for one, only the very, very poorest in the UK would get a look in - the rest would go to those in the developed world who really need it).

Hardly an attack, you appear to be upset by the status quo, unless I'm mistaken?

I'm suggesting that unless you become more productive with your attitude your going to be un-happy.

Again I think that is a fair conclusion?

I would also suggest that changing your attitude towards it been a system you see as set up to screw you to benefit someone else, to something more constructive would be helpful in addressing the concerns. Its not an argument as I've not said its remotely fair what circumstances your born into. I would just argue that your attitude is in no way going to help you.

It is a system that screws you, for the benefit of someone else.

    half empty

or half full... It's a system I can use to benefit myself, while others get screwed because of it.

Not when you buy and it devalues by 50%.

You dont understand the system, you only benefit from the system if some random event happens otherwise your not going to benefit.
