Cheating - Where do you draw the line?

    Completely hypothetical question here.

I work with a woman and I get the general gossip about other women and their exploits. Some of it got me thinking about couples and where you draw the line as "cheating".

For one example, a man and woman who work together but are married to different partners flirt alot, suggestive things are said etc. etc. but never actually get physical and at the end of the day, they go home to their respective partners and things at home are happy.

Would you class that as cheating?

If not, how far physically would you have to go before you crossed the line to cheating? Holding hands? cuddles/hugs? More?

My own personal view is the first scenario of thinking it and flirting is still cheating but at the end of the day they are returning home to me and things are happy. When things get phyiscal is where I draw the line (when there is more meaning to it than a comforting hug for example).

Anyhow, before people go running off making their assumptions about me, I am single and no, there isn't someone I am interested in who is already attached.

    So what are your views/opinions?

I would draw the line at proper kisses and anything beyond that.

Re: Cheating - Where do you draw the line?

It comes down to the feelings involved, you *can* do some fairly involved physical things without cheating, but at the same time you can cheat on your partner simply by exchanging IM messages, it's all about how you feel about the third person.

I sort of agree with you sleepyhead. Flirting is kind of cheating imo, but it depends on the feelings behind the flirting I suppose... light hearted, playful flirting is ok imo...

Re: Cheating - Where do you draw the line?

If someone was holding my girlfriends hands they wouldn't have fingers after I found out *rapidly changes into the HULK*

I know my girlfriend wouldn't do that though.. she's not the sort of person and thus no need for jealousy really.

I think it's taking the piss to even go that far though (holding hands).. there's no reason for it if you actually care about the person you are with.

Friendly hugging is Ok if they are old friends and stuff and flirting.. well .. i guess it's harmless unless one person thinks it's more than it really is (men usually, we are suckers for it).

Re: Cheating - Where do you draw the line?

It depends on the circumstances to me.

Mind when I found out one of my ex's (that I was seeing at the time) was actually getting engaged to someone I drew the line there lol (found out after that she was a bit of a slag and she wasnt exactly the exclusive type )

In seriousness it depends on the person and the context, i've a (female, me been male fyi) friend at work, i'm not really attracted to her (too short, but she is fit thou) and i'd never fornicate with anyone i work with in such a small company, not making that mistake again.

But i guess her boyfriend would get a bit upset as often at lunch we'll go for walks etc, she'll often hold my hand or arm. Point is its innocent, so myself i'd set the line at kissing with tounge.

or oral too oral penetration as some mature graduate with SiM's euducation might say.

might be.. In general I'm a nice guy but I wouldn't accept that kind of cr@p.

Well come on.. Ok lets say you're having this friendly stroll and holding hands. All of a sudden you see her boyfriend walking towards you.

Do you continue to hold her hand? Or has this suddenly become unacceptable?
