Its sick that you can make jokes like that over people who have gave their lives in the name of science and exploration

yeah well, you strap yourself to several thousand tons of explosives hurling itself wildly away from this planet at a few thousand miles a second...
    call that smart?

don't get me wrong i'm an avid follower of space science especially space medicine, but its almost like they're asking for it... but hats off to them all the same.

Its allways suprised me the little credit that is given to the Russians and ex soviet nations. They have a damn site better record in space that anybody else, soyuz alone has launched over 1600 times and is I think the safest launch vehicle around, Proton is their heavy lifter with around 300 launches.

The reason the Russians get so little credit is because they're not american.

Lets face it, the Russians are the only country who actually bother with a Space program now and are havign any success - Nasa's buget gets slashed every year more and more, and other countries can't get Space Craft up on their own. Of course, the European Space Agency is still working on Space Travel, but thats a european thing, not a national thing, and they always explode if they use their own launch vehicles.

It is sad that these people got killed in Brazil, such a country shouldn't be bothering trying to get into Space when they have enough problems down here on earth.

Now imagine what would happen if The European Space Agency and Russian Space Agency joined... who would need Nasa then?
