animus, the problems really simple if you look at a map.
southports in a wierd place, not near anything remotely resembling a motorway. theres only 3 routes in or out.
one from the north via preston - which means an extra hour from the m6.
one from the east - which is the road that is refered to as the twisty doom, its only 2 lanes, and has just as much traffic as dual carriageways have anywhere else. and now theres roadworks on it, so its backed up a good 4 or 5 miles during rush hour.
the others via liverpool.
pretty simple really. roadworks on that road = no lan for me.

For anyone who I was potentially going to give a lift... Wedge needs help shifting stuff so offered to help him out as he will be carless for the lan
Would have loved to have gone to this, but it's probably a bit too far for me :-(
May be worth a post on the lifts forum to see if anyone is going from your area? could get a lift?
