    Re: Admin/ Mod abuse!

Zac might have made a wrong choice to use the word "nuff" but i believe it was used in a lighthearted way.

Rather than get upset about your link being removed your other option would be to spend a bit more time here and ask a mod/admin first if its ok to post your link.

    Re: Admin/ Mod abuse!

Dang, this kind of trouble within 14 posts...

P.s. I doubt for two mins mods/admins abuse their power. I've broken the rules in the past, was given a friendly warning to which I accepted and explained my actions. He listened and seen it from my point of view and wasn't dismissed and that was that.

And because they ain't so far up their own backsides is why, this is one of the most laid back moderated forums I have visited imo.

You're being an idiot Saas, you're attempting to advertise a commercial website against forum guidelines and complain when the moderators do their job and warn you.

You're heading towards a ban in short order and no mistake, it'll be deserved.

    1) You're advertising your site on Hexus which isn't permitted with prior permission (and you were clearly lacking that permission)
    2) When an admin lets you know and removes the link, you respond with a sarcastic and rude reply, completely ignoring the issue at hand

What do you expect? Are you seriously implying that an admin using the word 'nuff' is sufficient for you to dole out some abuse and that any future action against you is a 'power trip'?

Somehow, I can't see you changing your mind on this any time soon, but for what it's worth, if you consider that to be admin/mod abuse and insist on maintaining your point of view, then I suspect you won't enjoy your time here very much and might as well spend it elsewhere.

If I'm wrong on that front, then you should stick around. Most of us have managed to spend a long time here, very happily in most cases, without incurring any mod-wrath at all. It's pretty rare to get one of them riled up, and if you do it's usually for a legitimate reason, i.e. breaking the rules, of which there aren't many. It's a nice place and we're pretty chilled out until someone rocks the boat

    Re: Admin/ Mod abuse!

Idd I can smell a ban hammer on the way here...What happened was pretty simple really:

You made at least one post advertising your website, without asking permission (or paying any advertising fee). This is against the rules of the forum that you agreed to when signing up.
So an Admin gave you a warning - which you responded to with a really bad attitude. Now you had come to this forum and are moaning again with the same bad attitude..totally against the spirit of this community.

    Pretty clear cut really...

I think the key point here is that you're a bit of an idiot. The mods certainly don't want you here, so take the hint.

This is wrong, while the person is being a bit thick, the mods in no way say they don't want him here. What they want is for him to follow the rules in place that everyone else does.

Broke forum rules about advertising, then got snobby and rude when warned. Not a good entrance into a forum IMHO.

    Re: Admin/ Mod abuse!

Sass, the FAQ http://forums.hexus.net/faq.php?faq=...ex_advertising give guidelines about unauthorised advertising, and this link http://forums.hexus.net/general-disc...ome-pages.html expands on that.

You are running a site carrying advertising, and therefore it is deemed to be for commercial purposes which contravenes the HeXus guidelines. If you want to advertise your site please contact the HeXus advertising manager.

You are welcome to contribute to HeXus; we welcome all constructive comments/debate, but we don't particularly welcome keyboard warriors with an axe to grind, or those that waltz in and think they can post what they like without taking the time to read the rules and get the feel of the place.

In that respect, the mods/admins try to reflect views the majority of the active HeXus membership.

If you still feel you have been unfairly treated, you have the right to appeal to the site owner.

(And before you start complaining about 'hoodie' speak, you might want to look at your own spelling/english:

    Re: Admin/ Mod abuse!

The first admin to deal with you was Ferral for your 2nd post; which appeared in the BF3 thread @ 30-10-2011, 04:06 AM and he deleted, quite correctly, giving the reason "No need to plaster BF3 servers all over the board, once is enough". As you had 2 posts at that point both promoting your website.

The 2nd was Zak33, who politely requested you stop promoting your website. In the thread you linked and is still viewable.

Both having been far more lenient than we often are with people who sign up just to promote something. Which at that point in your posting history was all you had done. A more typical response is an instant and permanent ban. Both of these posts btw had been reported to us by members of the community for the exact reasons action was taken against them.

You chose to respond with sarcasm and hostility to this simple and polite request.

At which point I, Chuckskull, for those counting, the 3rd moderator. Informed you this was not acceptable behaviour and handed down a 1 week ban as I stated in the thread.

In response to this you have decided to continue insulting a mod for a simple choice of words. This is the internet not court. He is under no obligation or expectation to converse with you in formal language unless he so desires, merely to make his point clear. Which I don't think anyone disagrees that he did. You certainly understood his intent. Which would be ultimate measure of whether his language was appropriate.

No lies, no power tripping or abuse. All these actions are recorded and reviewed by other moderators and staff when necessary. As Peter has pointed out, you are welcome to take this up with the sites higher powers, but currently you seem to be the only person; moderator, admin or member who believes there is any grievance here beyond your own behaviour. I hope discussing this with you openly can help you to see this and you can go on to enjoy membership of the heXus forums in accordance with the rules listed here.

    Re: Admin/ Mod abuse!

Honestly, im amazed the admins have been so tolerant with you. They are usually a lot more strict with people who continuously hassle the community and break the rules. I wont speak for everyone (although im fairly certain i do) but i for one, have zero complaints.
