What's the most expensive and utterly "pointless-to-spend-that-amount-of-money" thing you've ever bought?
Be it a pair of £234 glasses or whatever

My first thought when i saw your post Howard....
£60 for a MS wireless mouse explorer I must have been bonkers crib doing that! Its not even that good. Poor battery life for a heavy computer user like me and its crap in fast moving games like UT.
I suppose £2000 on a 21" LCD Monitor, probably could have got a 21" TFT or a CRT for a whole lot cheaper but I think it was worth it
2 grand? holy ! you could get a 42inch plasma for that
i havnt bought anything stupidly expensive really tbh.....most expensive thing was my first pc i think, abnout 370 it cost me, i have bought loads of things before tho, it may have only been 100 each, but ive spent a grand in a week on random stuff before

I don't think I've ever blown a silly amount of money on anything, I think the nearest was £550 on a digital camera, but that was about 5 years ago and that's what it cost for a half decent one..
I remember years and years ago having to spend £120 for a 16MB SIMM for my A1200 accelerator card..

worst i can think of was £160 on my hydrocool - its great but i could have done the same myself for half the price if i wasnt so lazee
£50 on a 12" record
£5 for a can of coke (abroad)
£115 on sunglasses - ended up sitting on them.
£370 Jackson DX6 Dinky (guitar)
Got it practically within the week i decided that I wanted it and never looked back since, play it all the time now. I've always been a musical person anyway but this was the first time i bought an instrument myself.
£170 for a Sega MegaCD right after they came out.
*DOH*
And I had to save all my paperround money to get that piece of junk....
...it looked cool though...

about 5 years ago bought a printer - my mum went to pick it up and they told her it didn't come with a lead to connect to the computer, so she bought one for £10 (i think)
