I've just spent Saturday viewing houses in Bicester.
Anyone live there and have any "insider" info for me? The kind Estate agents neglect to tell you.
Good parts of town, Bad parts of town etc?

On a slightly tangential note - how do you pronounce "Bicester"?
I always wondered that every time I drove past it going from Macclesfield to Reading.
Is it:
Bit-chester
Bi-chester?
Bi-sester?
Bister? (given how Leicester is pronounced)
~ I have CDO. It's like OCD except the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be. ~
PC: Win10 x64 | Asus Maximus VIII | Core i7-6700K | 16GB DDR3 | 2x250GB SSD | 500GB SSD | 2TB SATA-300 | GeForce GTX1080
Camera: Canon 60D | Sigma 10-20/4.0-5.6 | Canon 100/2.8 | Tamron 18-270/3.5-6.3
i read it initially as "bi-sester" but now i'm starting to see "bit-chester" argh i hate you :/ making my goddamn brain do work!
It's pronounced biss-ter. I don't live very far away from there, prolly 25mins, don't know much about it though.
Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean
It's most amusing getting an American to pronounce it
(\__/)
(='.'=)
(")_(")
I don't live too far away, it has that discount shopping village thing doesn't it, always good for a visit.
The only part I've really been to is the shopping village... glad I live half an hour away and not any closer or I would be very poor indeed!!!
It's a nice area as far as I know ...there is an army base nearby and I THINK there was talk of building an asylum seekers centre there... don't know if that is going ahead, or whether it really matters tbh, but may be worth taking into account for future sale-ability.
I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.... It was them that started me drinking.
Bicester (bisster) has a fantastic shopping village... I go there at least once a year when i'm at home. I liked the "bargain" Versace skirt at £1k (it was reduced from £6k!)
I think it's quite small though, not a lot of it.
)
I have lived in Bicester for 18 years and it's a great place to live. I would stay away from Glory farm area also kings end Greenwood homes. Bure Park, Southwold and Langford village are best. let me know if you want any more info.
